What is good food? This is a question that I have asked myself many times, and I have found that most people have no clue. Many of my friends have never had children, yet they will insist that they are feeding their kids “good” food. The problem with this statement is that it is not really good food any more, because there are so many unhealthy processed foods and ingredients in today’s food that it is impossible for anyone to claim that it is good food any longer.
When I was growing up, my mother always told me that good food was the home-cooked meal that we ate at our home. She used to say things like, “When you cook meat, it is like cooking your own heart.” She knew that I loved eating home cooked food as a child, and that I would love to eat home cooked food as an adult too. So, I asked what is good food, and she told me that it was home-cooked food that had been made the right way. She continued by saying that good food is any food that has the right balance of nutrition and does not have any artificial additives and unhealthy fillers in it.
Of course, as an adult, I did not have access to this information. As a result, I was never able to achieve the level of success that my mother was able to achieve, and as a result, I also gained a lot of weight and was very unhealthy. I now know what is healthy for me, and I am determined to make this food a part of my daily diet.
Good food does not need to be boring, and it can be anything that you like. A balanced diet consists of many different types of food, so that you are consuming healthy nutrients from each dish that you eat. You should be able to eat an apple, a pear, a banana, a piece of toast, or a handful of mixed nuts. As long as you are enjoying these meals, then you are eating a healthy balanced diet. However, if you do not like any of the above, then you should consider making healthier versions of the dishes that you enjoy and eat those instead.
What is good food for me may not be good food for you, but it is certainly better than bad food, and anything in between. I was introduced to good nutrition through my mother, and she taught me that good food is food that is wholesome and nutritious, and that bad food is poor quality and contains a lot of unhealthy preservatives and additives. With this knowledge, I began to eat much healthier, and lost a lot of weight. Now that I am fully committed to eating good food, and living a healthy lifestyle, I still struggle with finding good food, and keeping my diet balanced.
It is extremely important to eat a well balanced diet, because this will enable you to have the necessary vitamins and nutrients that you need to maintain a healthy body weight and lifestyle. What is good food for you will vary from person to person, depending on your preferences and likes. Personally, I enjoy eating cheese, fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and other healthy foods, and like to keep my meals healthy and balanced throughout the week. So, the next time you find yourself wondering what is good food, remember that there is always something healthy and good for you out there.
