A Review of Blindside Book by Michael Oher. Michael Oher is one of the newest and best new authors to come along in a long time. He has written a very interesting, thought-provoking, entertaining novel in the Blindside series, which he entitled “The Blindside.” The Blindside book series now consists of seven books, including the recently released “The Fire Within,” part two of the series. I enjoyed reading the first three books of the series and enjoyed the story and characters, but I always wondered how long it would be until the next book in the series was released.
In “The Blindside,” Michael Oher takes a good look at the inner workings of a young man who can easily be confused for a star athlete, or a football player, given his size and abilities. Michael Oher, a homeless teen, has drifted away from his home and into and out of school for several years. Then his foster father, a respected teacher, takes him in and becomes his legal guardian. The Tuohymes quickly become the new family dog, and Michael quickly realizes he must work to become accepted and succeed in his new environment. He is also determined to make a difference in his community by becoming an exemplary student, football star, and athlete.
One of my favorite things about the book is the way Michael Oher is so positive and encouraging. It really makes you think about what it means to excel in any endeavor, including sports. He tells his story with humor and charm, which make this book a great read for everyone, young and old. I found that the book was exciting and fun. I also really liked the story of how Michael Oher came to be the bestseller; I especially liked how he and his family became the bestseller. If you are a football fan, or you love the NFL, you will enjoy “The Blindside.”
