Today, one of my clients sent me an email about his recent experience. He was suspended from his Amazon seller account without warning or notice. He did not even have a chance to explain or defend himself before being suspended. What has become apparent to me as I have been investigating this for several months now is that Amazon does not always notify its sellers of Suspending Accounts. Here is what Amazon suspension appeal letters are like.
First, you are typically required to send a “Dear Sir” or “Dear Customer” in the dispute to the Amazon Customer Service (ASC). Second, Amazon will then schedule a “Hearing” which usually involves a phone call from the AMS. Third, after the suspension is lifted you will be notified by the Amazon HR Services. And finally, Amazon will make you pay the money back fee. Now, there are a couple of differences in all these three processes.
In the first case, an Amazon seller account is almost always suspended without warning or recourse. In the second case, Amazon will usually let you know of their decision at least a week before any suspension action can be taken. Finally, in the third case, Amazon does sometimes let you know of their decision a few days after the suspension is put into place. In my experience, there is never a good reason to be suspended from your account. If the reasons given do not seem reasonable and you feel that Amazon has made a mistake in your handling of your account, consider taking legal action against them for damages to your reputation and business.
