Why should we play Dota 2?

Why should we play Dota 2? There are many reasons to play this fast-paced strategy game. Perhaps you want to have fun with friends or family, or perhaps you’re hooked on it like so many other people. Whatever the case is, learning why you should play this game is the first step towards getting started. Basically, there are three major types of heroes in the game. Each one excels in a specific role; thus, you will need to learn the various roles so that you can effectively play off the talents your hero has.

The primary support role in Dota 2 is the safest lane. Support heroes are usually responsible for ensuring that their offline counterparts have a comfortable early game laning phase and to the carry a safe lane. Support heroes also help their mid and late game carries by keeping them from being soloed. A common support hero is the aura control mid hero, who is able to restore teammates and keep the lane pushed back safely. When playing support, you should know when to buy items to counter-build or when to buy your own items to dominate the game.

When playing Dota 2, it’s important to know which heroes excel in the early game, which ones excel in the middle game, and which ones excel in the late game. Outlane hard support heroes are good at taking out towers and taking down opponents, while the rest of the team takes down the towers. Spirit guardians are great at soaking up mana but are weak at fighting. Puck can be a strong jungler and carries but often finds himself outraned in the lane; he needs a lot of early game presence to make it to the mid and late game. Nature’s Lantern carries can make a huge difference in pushing the lane to a level where it’s slightly harder to catch up, especially if your support is good at ganking and roaming.

Mid and late game you want to be pushing towers and taking out creeps. The best way to do this is with the help of your creeps. creeps are basically the best dota 2 neutral items, since they allow you to get vision on your opponent’s location for the most amount of time. The main problem is that you will want to use your creeps effectively. You don’t want to waste your creeps pushing just one or two lanes because that will leave you without any creeps to trade with. You will also want to be careful with your creeps pushing too far into the enemy’s jungle, because that could cause a lot of trouble for your carry if the creeps take too much damage.

Early game you are usually the one getting ganked, so your job is to prevent that from happening. You can do this with your deny and/or deny aura spells. And lastly in the early planning stage it is best to roam around the map, since the enemy midlaner is probably farming up top. roam like you did in the midgame, but avoid fighting too hard near the bottom base. That would be a big mistake.

A smart support player in the game is someone that can control the creep waves, keep the creeps alive, and take out towers very quickly. There are some supports who can do this very well, but it takes practice. A support that has no means of controlling the creep waves and keeping the creeps healthy can easily be killed by the opposition if they take too much damage from too many creeps. I’m going to go over a few examples of supports that are great at doing this in the game. Good luck in your pubs!
